The Chicago Police Association of Nevada had its official start in early 1994 when a group of retired Chicago Police Officers that lived in Las Vegas hosted the Association's 1st Reunion at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino. Retired and active Chicago Policemen from all parts of the country attended the event. The idea of a yearly reunion here in Las Vegas became an annual tradition for the Association. CPAON has now held Thirteen consecutive reunions. The last took place at Palace Station Hotel and Casino in May, 2007. Plans are presently in the works for our next reunion which is scheduled for June 7th thru June 10th, 2009 at the Orleans Hotal and Casino.
Since the inception, the Chicago Police Association of Nevada has grown in size. We now have hundreds of both active and retired Police Officers, both from Chicago and other departments as well as associate members who share our common interests.
The Association hosts regular events for its members which include picnics, outings, parties, plus the Annual Law Enforcement Reunion. CPAON also has an official Chicago Squad Car which we use in parades and other events to promote the Association. Monthly meetings are conducted for both official business and a way for members to stay in touch. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of month at The Leathernecks Club which is located at 4360 W Spring Mountain Road, we suggest you check the Bulletin for the date, time of the next meeting. We have a Post Office Box for correspondence which is PO BOX 752582, Las Vegas, NV, 89136. Retired Sergeant Bill Ross,22nd District, designed and started this Web Site in the late 1990's. It is constantly updated with information on our events, news of our monthly meetings and give everyone a way to reach us through E-Mail.
CPAON is a source of information for its members by providing updates on laws, changes in our pension and a place for members to meet. We are here to assist those who are planning to move to the Las Vegas area as well as the members who reside here. We provide a friendly atmosphere by sharing our life styles and past experiences with others. We wish to be known as a helping hand and a friend to each of the members. Our doors are open and you are always welcome to stop by for a visit or to attend one of the meetings and we hope that you may be able to attend our next Annual Reunion.
